Judy Rey Wasserman is the founding artist of Post Conceptual UnGraven Image, a new contemporary art theory at the intersection of particle physics and religion. It is the first religious art theory developed in the USA, and being uniquely American it is inclusive, referencing important beliefs and theology held by most of the world's religions through its binary strokes. The meaning is inherent in the strokes, not the narrative imagery depicted. An 18 page booklet, "The Manifesto of Post Conceptual UnGraven Image Art Theory -- A Painting's Meaning is Inherent in its Strokes" is available as a free download at the Post Conceptual UnGraven Image web site.

In the fall of 2008 Judy Rey completed the first book in a series, entitled, The Art of Seeing The Divine -- Book 1: Introduction. It is an inspirational and visual self-help book that includes Visual Exercise/Experiences that help a person to actually physically change how they see the physical universe. Many of these experiences involve art. The book is initially available as an e-book at artofseeingthedivine.com.

By the summer of 2009, @judyrey was a prominent member of Twitter, consistantly listed within the top 500 most followers, headed up a popular Facebook group: Sharing a Transforming Vision to Successfully Change the World; plus a Fan Page: Judy Rey Wasserman. Videos are on You Tube, Vimeo and other sites, especially the popular "Painting with the Big Bang of Genesis".

Judy Rey's art education includes the Art Student's League, Hunter College and the High School of Music and Art, along with other classes and private studies. As a pre-teen with a NYC bus pass she found her way to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, which became her afterschool home away from home. She also was befriended by galleriests, especially Mr. Wally Findley and the people at the Wildenstein gallery, including Mr. Wildenstein, who taught her about how to look at art.

Judy Rey invented the radically new way of painting using symbols-as-strokes to create narrative imagery, which is Post Conceptual Art. The symbol-strokes are interwoven, overlaid and glazed, and generally undecipherable just like traditional strokes.

In addition she is founding a branch of Post Conceptual Art called UnGraven Image. This theory uses the original letters of the Bible (Torah font) to emulate the strings (energy/pre-particles) of physics, which for many are the Words of The Divine. The meaning of the art work becomes inherent in the strokes. How a painting is created supersedes what is depicted.

The paintings have been shown in galleries, museums, juried shows, plus, churches, synagogues a convent, galleries and juried shows. Judy Rey has curated a show of prints called, “Art at the Beach,” culminating in a solo show of her prints. Previously she has been a professional writer, including having a screenplay optioned by Academy Award nominee and Emmy winner Diane Ladd, working in TV development and writing for My Pet TV (HSUS), as an entertainment editor and journalist, actress, model, counselor, seminar developer and trainer and public speaker.

Since every stroke is a Torah Hebrew letter, she signs her paintings the letters of her given Hebrew name of Yehudi Rachel (Judy Rey) configured as a self portrait. She does not use her last name of Wasserman in her signature with respect and as a homage, to the incredible painter who only signed his name as “Vincent.”
